2024

  • The Social Change: Regional Impact Award is dedicated to a female entrepreneur that is recognized as an exceptional leader of a registered charity, social enterprise or not-for-profit that is dedicated to their unique brand of social change, at a local or regional level. Applicants have garnered extraordinary support from the community by being champions for philanthropy and volunteerism in Canada. Marcia was one of 3 Regional Finalists recognized in this category, representing the West.

  • EMBERS Canada was a semi-finalist for the CharityVillage awards under the Best Non-Profit Employer: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category. While we did not take home the award, we are so grateful to have been nominated and recognized for our DEI policies.

2021

  • The BC CEO Awards recognizes five recipients across the province for their corporate leadership. EMBERS Founder and CEO, Marcia Nozick, was recognized in the Lifetime Achievement Category.

  • The Stevie Awards are a global awards competition with participants from over 35 countries. Marcia Nozick and EMBERS won the prestigious Stevie Awards for Women in Business in three categories: EMBERS was recognized for Gold for the “Organization of the Year – Government or Non-Profit – More than 10 Employees” while Marcia received Gold for “Female Executive of the Year – Government or Non-Profit – 11-2,500 Employees” and Silver for “Woman of the Year – Government or Non-Profit”.

  • With a mission to honour excellence and inspire achievement in BC, the BC Achievement Foundation’s Community Award recognizes the contributions of British Columbians in their quest to build stronger communities.

2020

  • The Governor General’s Innovation Award celebrates excellence in entrepreneurial innovation across Canada. Marcia won this prestigious award in recognition of her entrepreneurial vision for EMBERS Staffing alongside five other outstanding Canadians.

  • The Wendy McDonald Entrepreneurial Innovation Awards are in recognition of Wendy McDonald, the first female Chair of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade. Marcia won the award in celebration of her success founding and serving as the CEO of EMBERS.

  • Each year, Business in Vancouver recognizes oustanding women business leaders within the community.

2016

  • The YWCA Women of Distinction Awards honours extraordinary women leaders and businesses. Marcia was recognized with this award in 2016 under the Community Champion category.

2015

  • EMBERS Founder CEO, Marcia Nozick, was recognized by the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards which celebrate excellence in Canadian entrepreneurship.

  • The Women in Biz Network Social for Good Awards recognizes excellence in women-led businesses. 

  • The Healthy City for All Awards recognize the people who lead projects that create a thriving, healthy, and liveable city for everyone.
