CanadianSME 2024 Awards Gala

We’re thrilled to share that EMBERS Staffing Solutions was recognized as a finalist at the 2024 CanadianSME Small Business Awards, one of the most prestigious celebrations of small business excellence in Canada.

Hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this past weekend, the awards gala brought together some of the most innovative and community-driven businesses from across the country. EMBERS Staffing was named a finalist in the Small Business of the Year (Under 10 Employees) category — an incredible honour that highlights the impact of our social enterprise model and our mission-driven work.

Since 2008, EMBERS Staffing has been doing things differently. As a not-for-profit staffing agency, we reinvest 100% of our profits into programming that supports our workers — whether it’s tools and equipment, lunch and transportation, access to dental care and housing support, or matched savings for long-term goals. We believe everyone deserves a chance to build a sustainable future, and stable employment is at the heart of that journey.

This recognition from CanadianSME affirms that business success and community impact don’t have to be mutually exclusive — in fact, they can go hand in hand.

Last year alone, EMBERS Staffing worked with over 1,700 individuals. From construction and warehousing to events, admin, and cleaning, we continue to connect people with the work they need to thrive — while building strong partnerships with local companies and employers who share our vision for a more equitable economy.
